Socioeconomics (SOSE) is a combination of geography, history, economics, accounting, civics, sociology, and anthropology. Various disciplines are packed in such a way that it becomes an interesting topic concerning various events of people's lives. The teaching and learning processes are delivered based on the principle of causality, territorial, adaptation, environmental management, structure, process, and social problems. Students will learn about learning to think, to do???, to live together, and finally to learn.
Students must be active in the teaching and learning processes. Students should have the capability to draw plans about their own future, work independently, work together in groups, make observations of social events, actively participate in group discussions, respect others’ opinions, lead group discussions, have the sense of responsibility, help others, and have an open mind. Therefore, the active learning method is in demand.
Various teaching methodologies are deliberately designed and developed to help the students get acquainted with the prevailing values. Values will be discovered, analyzed, and put in order, and new values will be developed by the students. The basic values such as the values of basic research (scientific curiosity, objectivity, creativity, and honesty), the values of supporting success (freedom, perseverance, flexibility, and survival), and the values of the social system of science (consideration of objective, scientific responsibility, science dedication, and scientific communality) must be understood by the students. These learning processes help students to develop rational decision making that can be applied in solving their personal problems.
